Experience is the best teacher...

On this page I'll include some of my tips and tricks I've learned while working on my saw. Where appropriate, I'll include steps or pictures to help clarify my explanations.

Please feel free to contribute your own tips - I'll post the best ones so everyone can see them.

Here's an example of a tip I will include.

Tip 1: Feed rate.

When you're sawing, let the blade do the work. Try not to force the wood into the blade. If you push the wood into the blade too fast you will either burn the wood, break the blade or both.

Tip 2: Clean your saw

After you're done sawing, take a little time to vacuum or brush the dust off of your saw. This will help prolong the life of your saw and you always have a clean work area when you return to your saw later.

Tip 3: Lining Up

One problem some people have is cutting a long straight line. Start by using a bigger blade (easier to control). When you start to cut, slowly feed the wood into the blade making sure your blade is lined up and keep your feed rate smooth and steady. Don't force the wood, let the blade do the cutting.
